River Trail Middle School is located in the city of Johns Creek, about 30 minutes north of Atlanta. Our mascot is the “Wolf,” and our school colors are black and gold. Our Principal is Neil Pinnock, and our Assistant Principals are Judson Kidd, Guy Crotsley and Lori Lahmann-Scullion. River Trail Middle School’s population is approximately 1400 students, 6th through 8th grade. We encourage our families to become involved in their child’s education. We have a strong sense of family and a very active PTO. We are a Charter “Cohort 2” school.

River Trail Middle School is a dynamic learning environment for 6th-8th grade adolescents in the Johns Creek area of metropolitan Atlanta, and it has been since its opening in August 2001. Students routinely score extremely high on standardized tests, and they are supported in their academic endeavors by talented faculty and staff members, and committed parents.  RTMS was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2007.

In addition to academic success,  River Trail students are active in the arts, athletics, and clubs.  Over 50% of the student body participates in yearlong band, chorus, orchestra or percussion studies.  Students are involved in a variety of sports through intramural and extramural athletics, both before and after school.  Club offerings at RTMS range from academic (i.e., MathCounts, Academic Bowl, Chess) to service (i.e., Jr. Beta, Student Government) to interest-based (i.e., Cooking, Scrabble, Jam Band).
